Rustic Father's Day Card

Here's my second Father's Day Card!  This card (and bookmark) is for my Dad, Charlie.  I am my Father's only Daughter so I feel like we have a very special relationship.  He has always been there for me with his generosity and unconditional love.  I found this great passage at Dee's Bugaboo Boutique, it was one of her Ruby Tuesday Scripture Freebies.  I thought it summed up so well what I want to say to my Dad this Father's Day!  It was a jpeg file that I converted into an svg file and then "cut" it with my cricut using my new Cri-kits gel pens. I then "coloured" in my sentiment with a black gen pen inspired from the challenge over at Just Add Ink,  JAI 72 - Just Add Some Colouring In.

For the card I used an old Mojo Monday layout {Mojo 181}.  The patterned paper is from DCWV and the rest is assorted cardstock.  I inked the edges with Distress Ink to give it a more rustic/manly feel.  The acorn is an svg file from SCAL and the Swirl was done with cri-kits gel pen.

I was blog hopping recently and stumbled upon this great corner bookmark at the The Key Ingredients Blog.  My Dad is an avid reader, so I thought this would complement his card nicely.  I went with a more simple look.  I mimicked the borders from my card and used the same ribbon.

I loved how this turned out.. I hope you do too!
