Here are a couple of Birthday Cards I made with my Taylored Expressions June key ingredients kit. For the first card, I used this weeks Mojo Moday sketch 196. For the second card, I used inspiration from Jamie Lane's Blog called Bits of Paper. She graciously offered up this flower svg file.. check her out if you would like this freebie too!
Hope you have a great week!!

Summer Thank-You Card
Greetings! Just thought I would post a fun thank-you card I made this past weekend. I needed some inspiration for the layout, so I headed over to the Mojo Monday Archives and picked MOJO 185 sketch.
I started with some assorted patterened paper scraps. The border was an svg file I cut on my cricut and then weaved with a bright green scrap of cardstock. I added some buttons, twine, grommets and layered the flower to give it more dimenson. I finished with a sentiment stamped with a glue pad and martha stewart glitter called "lapis".

Rustic Father's Day Card
Here's my second Father's Day Card! This card (and bookmark) is for my Dad, Charlie. I am my Father's only Daughter so I feel like we have a very special relationship. He has always been there for me with his generosity and unconditional love. I found this great passage at Dee's Bugaboo Boutique, it was one of her Ruby Tuesday Scripture Freebies. I thought it summed up so well what I want to say to my Dad this Father's Day! It was a jpeg file that I converted into an svg file and then "cut" it with my cricut using my new Cri-kits gel pens. I then "coloured" in my sentiment with a black gen pen inspired from the challenge over at Just Add Ink, JAI 72 - Just Add Some Colouring In.
For the card I used an old Mojo Monday layout {Mojo 181}. The patterned paper is from DCWV and the rest is assorted cardstock. I inked the edges with Distress Ink to give it a more rustic/manly feel. The acorn is an svg file from SCAL and the Swirl was done with cri-kits gel pen.
I was blog hopping recently and stumbled upon this great corner bookmark at the The Key Ingredients Blog. My Dad is an avid reader, so I thought this would complement his card nicely. I went with a more simple look. I mimicked the borders from my card and used the same ribbon.
I loved how this turned out.. I hope you do too!

Father's Day Card from the Pooch

Well here it is.. my very first post as a blogger!! I've been following the Mojo Monday Blog as well as many others for a while now and have made a few cards using their wonderful examples and layouts. I have finally made the decision to join the world of blogging and start my very own papercrafting blog to display my cards and other projects.
My Husband and I do not have any children yet, but we do have a fun-loving lab retriever named Sawyer and a sweet little house cat named Harley. Since I love a reason to make a card, I thought it would be cute to make a Father's day card for my Husband from our little "fur babies".
For this card I used the Mojo Monday Sketch 195 for my layout and my color scheme was inspired from Just Add Ink challenge JAI 71. This card was really simple to make. I used some assorted ribbon, a great photo I took of Kevin and Sawyer from a hike we went on this winter at a nearby state park and finished with some adorable paw print brads. My sentiment was stamped and heat embossed in black.
Hope you enjoy it!
